Twist Vaults

A NEW, easy-to-print dice vault that twists closed. Puzzle your foes and keep your randomizer math rocks safe. These fast printing vaults have a print-in-place screw that locks in your dice for travel. Righty-tighty, lefty-loosey, just two quick rotations, no magnets required! 
The Twist Vaults include 3 starting shapes, with two variants each. All the starting vaults can hold a standard 7 piece RPG dice set with room to spare.
Every vault is made up of: 1 top, 1 bottom, and 1 emblem.
All individual components can fit within a 180mm sq. build volume. 
NO magnets required! Magnets are cool, but honestly, it's really nice to just be able to print something without the need for extra hardware. These twist vaults are designed to hold your dice securely without the need for additional components. The plastic screw is surprisingly strong, but be careful not to over-tighten, as plastic can break with excessive force.
One goal for this project was to make the Twist Vaults efficient prints. Meaning, they are capable or printing in a short period of time, and don't require any unnecessary material usage. As you can see in the image below, these are fast printing, and use very little material on a modern printer. In fact for this single color Hexagon Twist Vault with a Dragon Emblem, you could theoretically print 11 Vaults from one roll of filament with a little filament to spare*! (Filament usage and print times will vary based on your printer and settings along with variation between vault shapes and emblem. Print speeds shown on a Bambu X1C)
Below are the three dimensional emblems included with the Twist Vaults. There's something for the whole party! Print one for your Cleric, Rogue, or Artificer, and don't forget a cool dragon for your Game Master!
The Emblems can just wedge on, but for extra security, we recommend a small dab of super glue to help hold it to the screw top.
These emblems are the perfect choice for color printing, they are short in height, and small enough to print multiples at once. Use the included, multi-part, .3MF file to easily color the models in your preferred slicer
(tested with Bambu Studio, and Prusa slicer).

Any unlocked backers goals will be added to your rewards in the coming weeks after the project ends. Twist Vault backer goals are NOT included for just the "add-on packs". However, should we unlock new emblems, those will be added to the emblem packs once they are completed.
The starting models shown above are ready to download. Once you complete your order and your payment is processed you will be able to download the Twist Vaults and the 3D Emblems shown.
For the Backer Goals, we will add these items to the download folder after the project has ended and the designs are completed. This might take a few weeks to wrap up, but the plan will be to have the additional items finished by the end of July 2024. It is always our priority to fulfill any promised items to our supporters as soon as possible. Once the items are added, you will receive an email update that let's your know the download folder has been updated and you can download the new files.

FAQs

When will the files be delivered?

The Starting files and emblems are ready to download now! Once your pledge is processed you will be able to download the initial set. Any unlocked Backer Goals will be delivered after the project ends. The plan will be to complete these by the end of July, but it will depend on how many goals we unlock.

What print settings should you use?

Recommended FDM Print Settings:

  • Nozzle: .4mm
  • Layer Height: .2mm
  • Infill:10-12%
  • Shells: 2
  • Supports: NONE

*Please be sure your printer is well tuned and printing accurately as these vaults have working mechanisms. Un-even flow, blobby corners, and dimensional accuracy problems will not work well with these moving parts.

Can I buy a physical twist vault?
